We take privacy seriously. Mapimator never sells your data and only uses the information necessary to deliver, secure, and improve the product. This policy describes what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
Who we are

Information we collect
We collect the following categories of data when you use Mapimator:
- Account data — name, email address, password hashes, billing contact details, and seat assignments.
- Workspace content — projects, uploaded assets, map data, and rendered exports that you create or import.
- Usage data — device type, browser version, IP address, timestamps, and interaction events used to monitor service health.
- Support interactions — messages submitted via chat, email, or forms when you contact our team.
How we use data
Data is processed for the following purposes:
- Operating, maintaining, and improving the Mapimator platform.
- Providing customer support, onboarding, and training.
- Monitoring service performance, detecting abuse, and ensuring security.
- Sending important service announcements and billing notifications.
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms.
Legal bases
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we rely on one of the following legal bases to process personal data: (a) performance of a contract (providing the service), (b) legitimate interests (improving and securing Mapimator), (c) compliance with legal obligations, or (d) your consent where expressly requested.
Sharing & third parties
We share data with trusted vendors who help us deliver the service (for example, hosting providers, authentication tools, and payment processors). All vendors are bound by confidentiality obligations and data processing agreements. We do not sell personal information.
Data retention
Workspace data is retained for as long as your subscription remains active. When a workspace is closed or a deletion request is submitted, we remove or anonymise associated data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, network isolation for render jobs, and regular penetration testing. Access to customer data is limited to authorised personnel who require it to perform their job duties.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or download your personal data, as well as to object to processing or request portability. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@mapimator.com.
International transfers
Mapimator operates globally and may transfer data to the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. When data is transferred internationally, we use approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Mapimator is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app messaging. Continued use of Mapimator after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Questions can be directed to privacy@mapimator.com.
